Wake Up Call with Mari Llewellyn

Mari Llewellyn radiates an inner light. And as I’ve gotten to know her over the past year, I’ve seen firsthand that her glow is so much more than skin deep—it comes from a genuine kindness and a heart for others. It would be easy to try putting Mari in a box (she’s beautiful, blonde, and has 1.5 million followers on Instagram), but within five minutes of meeting her, you pick up on the type of depth that speaks to lived experience. Mari has faced struggle and overcome challenges, and her story is proof that true, lasting change is an inside job.

When Mari and her husband Greg moved to Austin last year, they were searching for a slower pace, somewhere they might like to start a family in the near future. In addition to growing their successful supplements brand, Bloom Nutrition, Mari’s podcast Pursuit of Wellness, was topping wellness charts (it’s one of my own weekly must-listens), and she and Greg both landed on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list. But beyond her achievements, Mari embodies a grounded, feminine energy—she’s a self-proclaimed “horse girl,” bakes sourdough, collects eggs from her backyard chickens, and openly shares her dreams of becoming a mother.

ICYMI, Mari is the cover girl on the latest issue of Camille Styles EDIT. In our interview, Mari shares the story and struggles that propelled her to create the inspiring, fulfilling life that she’s living. Be sure to read our heart-to-heart on page 30 for major inspiration on tackling your 2025 goals. Since Mari has one of the most dialed-in daily schedules of anyone I know, I invited her to join our Wake Up Call series as well. Read on for Mari Llewellyn’s morning routine, and how she gets it all done each day.

Tell us about your career and starting a business. What has life been like as an entrepreneur?

As a student, I never anticipated becoming an entrepreneur. I always gravitated towards writing, art, and language. At university I studied design & merchandising, and wasn’t necessarily the best student. Little did I know, my fitness journey would change everything about my life. I learned how to keep my own promises and show up for myself. My passion for health and nutrition organically turned into a business. I started posting workouts, recipes, and being candid about the ups and downs of my journey. I wanted to share my knowledge with others, and my social media platform quickly grew. I cultivated a community of women who could relate to me, and wanted products to help them on their own journeys. With the help of my (very) entrepreneurial husband, I soon had a Shopify website selling PDF workout guides. This escalated into selling physical products like resistance bands, and we began sampling supplements for what would become Bloom Nutrition.

Life as an entrepreneur is exciting, stressful, beautiful and lonely all at the same time. It has taught me so much about partnership, leadership, grit, determination, and failure. It’s not about how quickly you win but how many times you’re able to get knocked down and stand back up. Bloom is truly a culmination of years of hard work, sweat and tears. I’m so proud of how far we’ve come, but know we have so much more in us.

What has been your biggest learning over the past year?

My biggest learning over the past year has really been about establishing my own values. For many years, all of my energy went into our business. This was necessary at the beginning, but now we’re in a place where I’m able to have a life outside of work. I’ve established hobbies, like horseback riding, and have a much more active social life. There are things that bring me joy and allow me to show up at work as the best version of me.

In a few words, how would you describe your personal style?

I feel like I have many sides to my style. If I had to label it, I’d say I’m simple, classic, sporty with a horse girl twist. I love Kendall Jenner’s style.

Spend time with friends, put my phone away, and spend time with animals.

If you could pin your success down to one thing, what would that be?

Tough to say. But if I had to have an answer, I think it’s my grit. My childhood left me with a little bit of a chip on my shoulder, and it has pushed me to focus on personal development, and proving to myself I can do it.
