Learning Opportunity: Floriculture Trends from the USDA Agriculture Census

Earlier this year, data from the 2022 USDA Census of Agriculture was made public. This Agriculture Census is “a complete count of U.S. farms and ranches and the people who operate them.” Taken once every five years, it covers any plot of land, whether urban or rural, if at least $1,000 of products were raised and sold (or planned to be sold) during the census year.

Therefore, plenty of important data is within the USDA Agriculture Census relating to floriculture trends that have been developing over the past decade. That leads to the Resource Innovation Institute’s upcoming webinar titled “Floriculture Trends and Insights from the USDA Agriculture Census” scheduled for Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

The RII posits that this session is crucial for those planning to attend the Cultive’24 trade show from AmericanHort, as it offers valuable data for the business development strategies of growers.

“Business development professionals, industry stakeholders, trade show attendees, and market analysts will gain valuable insights to transform your approach to the floriculture market with data-driven insights.”

Highlights from the webinar will include:

  • Analysis of floriculture operation changes
  • Crop growth trends (positive and negative)
  • State-by-state breakdown of regional market dynamics

Willing participants can register for the upcoming webinar directly through Zoom or by visiting the events page on the Resource Innovation Institute website for more information. Additionally, recordings of previous workshops and webinars can be viewed for free by visiting the RII’s online catalog.
