Gratte Brothers has promoted company stalwart Remi Suzan to managing director of its building services and engineering unit.
Suzan, who was previously deputy managing director, takes on the role this week after more than 20 years at the London-based CN100 mechanical and engineering (M&E) specialist.
Previous incumbent Iain Thomson becomes chair of Gratte Brothers after more than four decades of service.
The company said Suzan would “ensure the business continues to deliver the high standard expected by clients”.
“There will be a particular focus on growing talent, engineering competency, digitalisation, prefabrication and building our sustainable credentials,” it added.
Suzan is credited with championing prefabrication and will “continue to push offsite manufacturing”, according to Gratte.
“An honest approach to sustainability takes priority, looking at solutions within the business, on projects and with the supply chain that ensures a balance is struck between the lowest possible operational carbon and genuine reductions in embodied carbon of products installed.”
Thomson said: “Remi and I have worked together over the past five years to manage this transition. It is with great confidence that I hand over the reins to a leader with such a positive and forward-looking vision for the company.”
David Gratte, group managing director of the company, thanked Thomson for his “dedication and loyalty”.
He added: “Remi has more than proven his ability to lead during this transition and brings with him a unique blend of technical knowledge and approachability as well as a progressive and positive vision for the future. These are all fantastic qualities for a leader.”
Gratte Brothers doubled its turnover to £250m in the year to 31 March 2023.
