Terra Nova Nurseries has announced the expansion of its Echinacea Delightful Series with the debut of three new varieties:
‘Delightful Garnet’ is distinguished by its deep green foliage and ruby-garnet-colored, double anemone-type flowers. Its compact, bowl-shaped form aligns with the series’ signature habit. The pine-toned leaves remain dense to the base of the plant, creating a full and finished look.
Terra Nova’s new ‘Delightful Sunshine’ sports bright, sunny-yellow flowers that won’t fade from the first bloom until the last. This plant is a little larger than the rest of the varieties in the Delightful series, and its habit and vigor give it a dual purpose for containers and landscapes.
‘Delightful Tropics’ showcases fully double, long-lasting blooms in an eye-catching mix of orange, mango, and ruby grapefruit; the flower color deepens as the variety matures, offering continued interest. The echinacea’s matte-green foliage contrasts well with its pollinator-attracting blooms.
Terra Nova debuted the Echinacea Delightful Series in 2024 with the launch of three colors: Gold, Lace, and Sangria
The series, specifically aimed at the pot crop market, now comprises six varieties. Each variety in Terra Nova’s Echinacea Delightful Series has been bred to remain tight with an impressive flower count of fully double flowers.
Terra Nova Showcases Varieties at Guangzhou Lingnan Flower Wholesale Market
Terra Nova Nurseries has announced its presence at the Guangzhou Lingnan Flower Wholesale Market, the largest single horticultural wholesale market in China. This marks Terra Nova’s third spring sale season at the Guangzhou Lingnan Flower Wholesale Market through its partnership with licensee Chongqing Tianmu Agriculture.
The Guangzhou Lingnan Flower Wholesale Market is open to the public and horticulture trade year-round. It receives 20,000 visitors per day, comprising local Guangzhou citizens, garden center and flower shop owners, landscapers, and brokers.
Terra Nova worked with Chongqing Tianmu Agriculture to force and finish a selection of Terra Nova’s top-performing varieties for the Guangzhou Lingnan Flower Wholesale Market. The plants developed at a high-elevation nursery with cooler temperatures before being transported to Guangzhou. The warm and humid climate in Guangzhou allows these varieties to bloom as early as February, while plants in other regions are still dormant.
“Guangdong, as the southernmost province in mainland China, experiences the earliest spring,” says Kevin Chen, Terra Nova’s Asia representative. “While other regions in China are still unable to source finished flowers or plants, the varieties we’ve coordinated with Chongqing Tianmu Agriculture are already blooming or reaching maturity in Guangzhou. We believe this early performance will translate into strong sales and successful market reception.”
