The Midnight Ride

How would you like to eavesdrop on the events leading up to the Revolutionary War?

Imagine witnessing the dumping of nearly 350 crates of tea into Boston Harbor. Or searching for lanterns in a church tower while riding a horse at full gallop to warn colonists about a British invasion.

You and your family can experience the drama of the American Revolution and Paul Revere’s midnight ride on a special edition of Focus on the Family with Jim Daly featuring an episode of Adventures in Odyssey called “The Midnight Ride.”

If you’re new to Focus on the Family, Adventures in Odyssey is a radio drama for children (click here for more information). Jean and I raised our boys on these high-quality programs. They present great moral lessons about family and faith in entertaining ways.

Today’s show is a great example of that. It’ll teach your children to reflect on the incredible freedoms our nation grants us – and the heroes who continue to defend those liberties today.

As John Avery Whitaker, the father figure everyone looks up to in the fictional town of Odyssey, says, “[Paul Revere’s] time really wasn’t so unlike ours, and he really wasn’t any more brave than we are. He simply had a task to do, and he did it. Our task is to make sure Paul Revere’s midnight ride is remembered and that what he rode for – liberty – is preserved.”

I hope your whole family will tune in for this program on your local radio station, online, on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, via Google Podcasts, or listen on our free phone app.

Before I close, I’d like to extend an invitation for you to become a special partner with us through our monthly “Friends of Focus on the Family” program. When you do, we’ll send you a copy of a 4-CD set of patriotic-themed Odyssey episodes, including this one, called For God and Country. Click here for more information. Or give us a call at 1-800-A-FAMILY (232-6459).
