An infrastructure investment expert has joined one of the largest land and property owners in the UK.
Peter Hofbauer
Leading this week’s industry appointments is Peter Hofbauer, as board counsellor at the Crown Estate, effective from 1 September. With a background in infrastructure investment and management, Hofbauer was latterly head of infrastructure at private equity firm Hermes GPE. Before that, he served as the global head of infrastructure at investment and advisory company Babcock & Brown. Sir Robin Budenberg, chair of the Crown Estate, said Hofbauer’s experience would help to support the organisation in meeting its decarbonisation and energy ambitions. Forensic focus
Jack Clitheroe
Insolvency and business-recovery firm Begbies Traynor is expanding its team with the appointment of forensic accountant Jack Clitheroe as a partner. He joins BTG Advisory, a division of Begbies Traynor Group, after working at Ernst & Young for 11 years. Clitheroe’s new role will see him advising clients and lawyers on a range of matters including commercial disputes, loss-of-profit claims, contentious business valuations, transaction disputes and fraud investigations. Richard Pughe, partner at BTG Advisory, said the new recruit’s “tremendous wealth of experience and deep knowledge in forensic accounting will be invaluable”.
Data connection
The pull of data centres is attracting more than just contractors. Law firm Eversheds Sutherland is adding a new recruit to its real estate and digital infrastructure team. Rob Donell is joining as a partner from Clifford Chance, bringing experience in data centres and digital infrastructure, as well as traditional real estate and infrastructure, including renewable energy. He has advised a broad range of clients including investors, lenders, developers, operators and occupiers. Donell said his new role would help “accelerate the growth” of the real estate, data centre and infrastructure business generated for the firm.
New roles to handle
The gates have opened for Martin Cope and Adam Dixon, as the new national account manager and senior technical manager respectively at door-hardware supplier UAP. Chief executive David Jennings welcomed the two by saying: “Martin and Adam are joining us at a particularly dynamic time for UAP. Their extensive experience and expertise align perfectly with our commitment to quality, durability and continuous innovation, and we are eager to continue.”
In station for transformation
And finally, housing association A2Dominion has appointed Andrew Knox as financial transformation director. Knox said he was looking forward to “making a real step change in quality, service and value for money”.
